8th Annual Broadwater Holiday Party

The 8th Annual Broadwater Holiday Party held on December 10th was a wonderful success.  It was a beautiful night and as you entered the ballroom of the Palazzo Di Oro, the ambience of the season filled the beautifully decorated room. Honey Baked Ham and Turkey, rolls and soft drinks were provided by the Association.  The nearly 200 guests brought some great dishes to share and The Tempests entertained with requested music along with their usual wide range of rock music. Greg Dent donated the 360 Vodka for martinis and margaritas, which were a big hit once again. We were given generous discounts on the wine from Tosti’s Liquors and from Savannas Nursery for the beautiful poinsettias.  Thank you to all three for always supporting Broadwater!  It has been my privilege (along with Debbie Zito) to organize your Christmas Party for the past two years making Broadwater the envy of other communities.  We are so lucky to have such a wonderful group of volunteers that helped us put it all together and made this night possible.

I would like to thank our Fantastic Committee: Tom Ando, Jim Hill, Mike Zito, Linda & Dana Farden, Lee & Paul Krueger, Sheila Ramsdell, Ray Fitzgerald, Rhonda & Doug Fuller, Ray & Gia Ockuly, Cheryl Cook, Maria Roesner, Bruce & Kris Holtman, Everett & Yvonne Melnick, Bob & JoAnn Uhrie, Vicki Linkovich, John Klement, John Ferguson, and our photographers Dena McElerney & Alexis Bond. The pizzas for the decorating volunteers were donated by Patti Kent and the Beer for both evenings was donated by Sean Nyitray, a special thanks to both of them. Donations from our residents to the National Guard Families totaled $714.00 and were matched by the Association along with $134.00 from the 50/50 raffle for a grand total of $1562.00. Thanks to all of you for your generous contributions.  We sure made a difference in the lives of our troops. The reservation has been made at the Palazzo Di Oro for the next Holiday Celebration on December 9th, 2011. Debbie and I are committed to making this event even better and I encourage everyone to attend.  Submitted by Evelyn Hill
