Neighborhood Partnership Grant Update

Grant Hours 2012Broadwater is making great progress toward retiring the City of St. Petersburg, Neighborhood Partnership Grant that was authorized by the City Council in the fall of 2010. As you can see from the accompanying data we have accumulated 590 of the 960 hours we need to retire the grant. We are over 60% of the way home.

All of these volunteer hours have been delivered by 21 Broadwater residents. Considering that estimates indicate there are over 1,100 people living in Broadwater, this is an extraordinary accomplishment. When you see these residents please thank them for their effort on your behalf.

We anticipate the scheduled Garage Sale and Hazardous Waste Collection events will add significant hours to these totals. Last year we accumulated almost 80 hours on the Hazardous Waste event by itself.

Please check with your Block Captain to see how your effort on the Hazardous Waste Collection event can contribute to retiring the remaining 370 volunteer hours required.

Other projects qualifying for the volunteer hours include: a) coastal clean-up, b) landscape maintenance. If you wish to participate in retiring the grant and have any questions please contact Mike Milvain at 727-866-9803 or mmilvain@gmail.com
